Sambal Belacan

Sambal Belacan is a traditional Malay chili paste that is really spicy but tastes great! 

Ingredient:Sambal Belacan

  • 8 fresh red chili peppers
  • 2 small kasturi limes, halved
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp belacan, roasted 


  1. Slice the chilies coarsely.
  2. Throw all the ingredients into a blender.
  3. Blend for about 2 minutes or until smooth.
  4. Serve Sambal Belcan with limes.
