Stir Fried Sambal Sotong (Squids) Recipe

Stir Fried Sambal Sotong is a classic Malay dish made with squid. One can substitute the squid with shrimps if they prefer.

Ingredient:squid with shrimps

  • 1 squid, cut into rings
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 red chili, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tomato, wedges
  • 2 tbsp sambal chili


  1. In a pan, heat the oil and fry the onions with the chili.
  2. Toss for 2 minutes.
  3. Throw in the quid and sambal chili. Fry for 4 minutes.
  4. Add the tomatoes and toss for 1 minute.
  5. Serve with rice.
